Main character is a rapist.
edit: oookay, the author of the book 'liked' my one sentance review. That's a little creepy.
To expound on why this book bothers me, Vadim is an unrepentant rapist who murders his victims afterward. Because he's a soviet soldier in Afghanistan this is somehow acceptable behavior according to the majority of the readers of this book and makes him a romance hero. I'm sorry, that's bullshit. Sure, war is hell, but there's hell, and then there's going out of your way to find a woman to rape and murder. And then being portrayed as a 'hero' for this. What a "wonderful" book. Excuse me while I vomit.
